In this 24 hour class, taught by an Autodesk Certified Instructor, you’ll learn the core skills needed to create, modify, and manage 2D drawings in AutoCAD. Whether you're new to AutoCAD or looking to refresh your skills, this course covers all the essential tools and workflows for effective drafting and design. The class begins with an introduction to the AutoCAD workspace and user interface, ensuring you understand how to navigate the software efficiently. You'll then dive into basic drawing and editing techniques, such as creating lines, shapes, and objects, as well as using viewing tools to navigate your drawings. From there, you'll learn how to organize your work on layers, making it easier to manage complex designs. As you progress, you'll explore tools for annotating your drawings, including adding text, dimensions, and hatching, as well as creating tables to present your data clearly. To enhance your workflow, we will introduce you to reusable symbols (blocks), a critical time-saving feature. Finally, you’ll learn how to set up layouts and prepare your drawings for printing and plotting. By the end of the class, you’ll be comfortable using AutoCAD’s essential tools to create professional, detailed 2D drawings efficiently and with confidence. This course focuses on the tools that are most commonly used in everyday design tasks, leaving out advanced commands and options that are less frequently used.
